Wrapping up the 2014 North Carolina Science Festival, UNC Charlotte will host a free, public Science and Technology Expo on the lower campus mall, facing the Student Union on Sunday, April 13, from 10 am – 2 pm. There is convenient free parking in the nearby Union Deck, and food available on site and at the Student Union. Make a day of it and see some of the coolest science this side of… well, anywhere!
The Expo will feature over 100 activities for the science-curious of all ages, including hands-on educational presentations and fascinating displays developed by UNC Charlotte science faculty -- engineering demonstrations, computer and software explorations, all kinds of cool robots in action, lab tours in the life sciences, STEM education activities, environmental science, rockets, high altitude balloons, the nearby UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens in full bloom... and much, much more.
And this is just the finale! Science is blooming all over North Carolina in March and April and UNC Charlotte is ramping up its Festival participation as part of the seasonal exuberance. This year, the university is going all-in for science and offering a seven-event public science lecture series, a four-event film series and a star party. If you like science, or if you just have a little wonder in your heart, there’s something here for you. Check it out!
The Star Gazing Party, which was originally scheduled to take place April 4th in the evening, is going to be rescheduled due to expected incliment weather. Check back for updates on when the event will take place.
